Donuts is seeking a dynamic People Operations Director to support our fast moving company
with amazing employees. We are currently primarily working remotely and expect to transition
to a hybrid environment over time. We are growing, have the basics in place and need you to
help take what we have in place today to the next level.

A few projects you will be involved in right away include:

  • develop and execute a plan to roll-out newly created salary ranges and job families
  • evaluate ADP HRIS to determine how to expand our use of the system to streamline process, establish a ‘system of record’ for global employee data and expand the use of existing functionality
  • create a performance management toolkit which embeds the company’s newly adopted Core Values
  • manage the year-end pay planning process
  • Develop an HR Scorecard

What you will do in this role:
Compensation & Benefits

  • Support the overall health and well-being of our employees.
  • Coordinate with third party administrators, benefit brokers and local office managers to manage plans globally. Manage employee annual benefit renewals and open enrollment activities across all locations. Assist with development of communications programs.
  • Manage leaves of absence administration including review, documentation, approval and direct communication with employees and management on return-to-work status.
  • Manage compensation market data, job matching and compensation survey administration activities. Partner with managers to create, update, revise job descriptions as needed.
  • Manage year-end compensation review and planning process.
  • Manage the Kazoo platform and strategy.

Performance Management

  • Manage the annual performance review process. Develop tools, training and process to assist everyone involved in the process.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Build and maintain key HR processes documentation and controls.
  • Own the HR and CSR Scorecard. Report Monthly on hiring, turnover, and engagement trends.
  • Develop and interpret employee policies.
  • Working closely with the Payroll team, manage the HR-side of the ADP HRIS system to maximize utilization of the system while maintaining integrity of the system data.
  • Maintain the integrity of employee records and files including developing and documenting onboarding and off-boarding process, data management standard and reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources; apply this knowledge to recommend changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership.
  • Monitor the organization’s compliance with employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Includes, but is not limited to: EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, COBRA, etc as well as keeping apprised of Global legal perspectives.

Organization Development

  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce and succession planning related to compensation, systems integration and reporting.
  • Participate in due diligence and acquisition integration activities.
  • And other related duties as assigned.

What we would like to see in you:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience as an HR professional who can comfortably interface with all levels of the organization and effectively represent multiple HR disciplines.
  • Experience in a late-stage startup or growing venture with 200-300 employees is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing global compensation and benefit programs is required and familiarity with ADP and other HR Systems is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and document and scale processes to meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization.
  • A passion for strong positive cultures, a bias for diversity, equity and inclusion, operational capability, a sense of humor and a solid EQ.
  • Successful track record establishing credibility and trust with a diverse, global and remote employee base; strong judgment, diplomacy and negotiation skills and the ability to ‘bring people along’.
  • Strong analytical skills; a critical thinker with the ability to seek out and utilize data for creative problem solving.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports and deliver formal presentations and learning programs.
  • Experience supporting a significant Canadian employee base is highly desirable.
  • Current GPHR, PHR, CCP or CEBS certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Google Suite is preferred.
