As a Name.com Software Engineer Intern, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative and supportive team culture to enhance our PHP- and JavaScript-based applications. We value collaboration, respect, accountability, transparency, and humor, and we’re looking for a Software Engineer to join us for the summer to supplement one of our 3 scrum teams.

This role reports to the Manager, Software Engineering.

This will be a summer internship, working up to 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do:

• Gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks as needed.
• Follow best practices in code quality, modularity, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are / What You Bring:

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Juniors, Seniors, or Master's students preferred).
• Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm to learn new things, and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
• You are a KNOWLEDGE SPONGE. You welcome constructive feedback and are always on a path toward self-improvement.
• Experience using a C-style language (eg, PHP, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby). SQL database (eg, MySQL) is a plus.
• Knowledge of functional programming, modern frontend frameworks (eg, Vue.js, React, Angular) and client-side programming. Applied Vue.js experience is a definite plus.
• Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.
• Familiarity with using AI chatbots for code generation, debugging, and understanding complex programming concepts.
• Ability to work across time zones as part of a global organization.

Salary Range

The U.S. hourly rate for this internship is $25 per hour. We will not ask for information about a candidate's current or past compensation for purposes of developing an offer.
